Bear in the Big Blue House

We had a little one in the house this past weekend.

Our kids are grown and gone, so having a baby around again is a rare and joyful treat. Saturday morning, as she ate breakfast, she was watching Bear in the Big Blue House — from 1997.

It was such a strange, wonderful feeling because it’s exactly what our kids were watching more than 25 years ago.

A big bear, a little bear, a couple of otters, a mouse, a shadow, a lemur and Luna the moon, all living together in a big blue house, teaching lessons about kindness, curiosity, and connection.

And it still works.

That’s the magic of a good story — it lasts.

Credit to creator Mitchell Kriegman and the genius storytellers at The Jim Henson Company, who knew then (and still know now) how a story can stick with us, resonate, and make us think and feel.

That’s the feeling we chase at Rabbit Run Media — the joy of crafting, telling, and hearing a story that connects. Maybe even one that lasts nearly 30 years.

If you’ve got a story to tell, we’d love to help you tell it.

In the meantime, the Moon, the Bear, and the Big Blue House will be waiting for you to come and play. 🌙
